Success!

I got a new job!

I met with Don Farrell today (the Secretary of the SDA), and he's offered me a job at the union! I will be a recruiter, going around to stores and convincing people to sign up. It's 15 hours a week, casual rate. It's also fairly flexible regarding hours around uni etc. How exciting!

I'm listening to every AIESEC song I can get my hands on, coz a) they are all happy songs, and b) if I hadn't gone to the networking event, I wouldn't have this job!

Happy Times!

The Journey that is to come

LCP. Oh help. I sometimes get the feeling that my life has taken off without me! Laura has handed the the key to the office, Transition is officially over, and I have LCP in my email signature. I think it's official. Oh help.

2008 is going to be challenging, that is for sure. But it also looks incredibly promising. I will be moving into a new flat in February, after housesitting for wonderful Simon for 2 months. January Conference will be the first chance to lead a delegation. I am in control of my learning, with my uni courses finally sorted out. I'll be saving madly for an overseas adventure this time in 2009. My RB is the best I could have hoped for, and my EB are all shiny and new.

My life is now truly my own. I don't have to report to anyone, or ask permission for anything. It also means that I am on my own - alone. I like the feeling that I am in control, I like the freedom, and the small sense of pride that comes with true responsibility. I know that this is best for me, but it is still quite sad to leave behind a beautiful, if flawed relationship.

Tomorrow brings new promise too. I have an interview with a man I met at a networking event - he's offered me a job. I know it will be better than my current job - it's just a case of wether it pays better, and if it is parttime or casual.

I will try to keep an eye out for things that are happening around Australia and the world, but I think I'll leave it to Westy to give you the informed view. I'll just hang around on the internet with my trackie-dacks on, and see what I can find.

Take care.
